About BicycleTricycle

BicycleTricycle is a bespoke design studio, founded by designer Jae Wyllie Willard, producing unique interiors {and some exteriors occasionally too}, and the products that give them that WOW factor by truly creating “Something Fun for Everyone”.

Adding a flair of fun, but paying detailed attention to the clients’ lifestyle, function of space, comfort, and aesthetics, are key elements to the bespoke designs by BicycleTricycle.

Designer Jae Wyllie Willard herself is a comprehensive designer, from brainstorming with clients and developing architectural designs, to installing the finishing decorative custom details herself.  Inspired by design legends like mid century modern designers Ray & Charles Eames and the modern day Marcel Wanders, she believes design doesn’t have to be so serious, structured, and formal.

Jae’s adventurous, diverse life experiences and thirst for continued innovative industry knowledge, is what sets BicycleTricycle designs apart. Her earlier influences come from being fortunate to have traveled the world from a young age and living abroad, to earning her Masters in Architectural Interior Design and working in Chicago for ten years with freelance clients, and industry leaders such as Michael Richman Interiors and HGTV host Joan Kohn. Through those work experiences she was part of an Architectural Digest photo shoot, published in Chicago Home Magazine, worked on two design books under Joan Kohn, and so much more.

Jae Wyllie Willard now lives and plays in the little state of RI, where she has continued to diversify her portfolio. In addition to having incredible freelance clients who seem to be just as passionate about the creative process and products of BicycleTricycle, Jae has enjoyed working with local leading hospitality designer Kyla Coburn, and as an Architectural Designer and Project Manager for a Design-Build firm. Jae’s interior design projects, as well as the BicycleTricycle design studio, have been published in East Bay Magazine and other local publications.

Loving the energy of the design community in RI, Jae continues to be a part of DESIGNxRI, where she was initially selected to the Advance Design Forward Cohort, and has since been on the planning committee for DESIGN WEEK RI and the infamous Designers Ball. {Stay tuned for the Spring 2020, third annual Designers Ball theme to be announced!}

Creating the BicycleTricycle design studio has given Jae the ability to take clients’ ideas and styles to the next level, while successfully collaborating with artists / builders / carpenters / subcontractors, creating functional architectural designs with unique custom details and aesthetics.

Some of the BicycleTricycle favorite products to create:
Lighting is a big one! And the BicycleTricycle line of custom paint colors of course! {Wallpapers coming soon!} And then theres, furniture/upholstery, built ins, millwork, textiles, art installations, window treatments, recently designing powder room vanities & hardware {which has been interesting}, small landscaping projects, children’s toys, wood working, accessories, photography, and anything else BicycleTricycle can get thier hands on or imagine!

Need a designer for one of the above? Have a project or an idea you think BicycleTricycle would be interested in? Maybe you need feedback on your own project? How about a dynamic buyer, queen of sourcing, and cheap-ass, hard-ball negotiator like Jae?
